THREADED LINEAGE
NATIVE FASHION WEEK SANTA FE 2025
Threaded Lineage reclaims the materials, memories, and histories left behind. Constructed from up-cycled garments, painted with symbols and stories, each piece speaks to survival on stolen land, the experience of being an MMIR family, and the unfinished work of sovereignty. This is couture made from the things left aside. Fashion born from resistance. This collection is a letter to my family, and a confrontation with the colonial concept of empire. I work with what the world discards, cardboard, canvas, forgotten fabric because my people have always made beauty from survival. My practice is rooted in anti-colonial aesthetics, the survival of trans and Native bodies through beauty, memory, and storytelling. This isn’t just fashion. It’s protest, it’s prayer, it’s personal. I want folks to leave feeling unsettled, honored, and called in.
